A Relational God
Every time I learn another characteristic of GOD, I am always amazed. It is constantly a contradiction to the GOD I was introduced to. I understood GOD to be, strict, angry, and frustrated. Learning Our FATHER actually calls us friend, and desires to be our “best friend” this revelation comforts me, softens me, and strengthens me.
Friends? I have a couple. We are personal, close, we share secrets, and spend time together. That’s what GOD ALMIGHTY desires, wants, and yearns from you and I. For many of us we go to church, pray, and read our bibles. Now this will not deepen our relationship with the FATHER. I know because I did all these things, and there was still a tug in my heart that wanted more. I misunderstood this tug, thinking, I was distant from the FATHER. I wasn’t right or holy enough, which was a lie. The tug was a craving for a closer relationship with Our FATHER.
Seeing that what I was doing (going to church, reading my bible etc.) wasn’t satisfying the emptiness I still had. GOD wanted more. The twice a week visits to church, scanning through the bible, posting scriptures on Facebook, and reciting those begging, pitiful, long prayers was NOT cutting it. GOD demanded NOT more of me but ALL of me. And all of you, as well. These simple suggestions this book offers will lead to a closer relationship with the FATHER.
Shorter but more conversations with GOD.
example: instead of one (1 hour prayer), try 10 (ten minute prayers), 7 (3 minutes prayers), or 5 (two minutes prayers).
Think constantly about HIM throughout the day.
set the alarm on your cell phone throughout the day to remind you HE is with you, HE loves you, Thanking HIM etc.
Whatever method you choose, music, sermons, listen constantly to the truth over and over again.
You may or may not feel close, just receive that you are closer.
GOD wants to be closer than you and what’s her name.
Only a few people are said to have been friends with GOD in the Old Testament. Only a handful. JESUS came so that we all could be best friends with GOD. What a disgrace it would be not to receive what someone died to give you freely.
It's a relationship that must be developed, it’s HIS gift to us that HIM and I you and HIM become BFF!
