Day 15 - Formed for God's Family

Willona Booker
We are One

Being apart of God’s family is a blessing. There are no words to describe how grateful I am to be apart of his family. Knowing that you and I were created to be apart of his family is genuine and no one can take that away. We are his children and forever a part of his eternal family.
In Purpose Driven Life, Rick references how we become God’s children the moment we put our faith in Christ. All of us here on Earth and in heaven are forever united because we spiritually belong to God and are now spiritual brothers and sisters. We have our traditional, physical family that we are born into, but our spiritual family is eternal. The moment we are baptized, born again, and accept Christ as our Savior, we become apart of something bigger, something greater than what we could ever imagine.
God’s family is eternal. His love is unconditional and forever. Belonging to his kingdom brings unspoken privileges and happiness that our eyes cannot see. What’s even greater is that it cannot be taken away by man. The world is full of greed, destruction, diseases and other mishaps, but being a member of God’s family can never be taken away. It is eternal.
This world would have you believe that God could never accept us with all the wrong that we have done in our lifetime, but when you are baptized; you are born again and made a new creature. All sins are washed away and you are made new. This is our opportunity to walk with God and become more Christ like, leaving the past behind us; to let go because God did.
I am thankful that I am a member of God’s family because I believe in Jesus and was born again. My past is my past and God loves me with all my faults and greatness. It is truly a privilege and honor to be walking with my spiritually family and be apart of God’s Kingdom eternally.

Verse to Remember: "His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ." Ephesians 1:5a (NLT)
