Day 2 - You Are Not an Accident

Lisa Washington
You Are Not an Accident

My review of chapter two was absolutely what I needed. There has never been a moment that I did not wonder why I was created, what was my purpose and why did I exist. When I was a young girl I learned how to put all my thoughts, hurts and pains away and not be bothered with them at that time. Little did I know that my thoughts remained and these experiences were shaping me into who I was created to be.

According to chapter two “Nothing in my life is arbitrary. It’s all for a purpose.” Everything in life is for a purpose. The loss of a job, not passing that course, running out of funds the same day you receive your pay check, losing a loved one, and dealing with pain. These were not just events in your life they were actually purposely put there to reveal something. It took a long time for me to understand this but as I spent time with God and my thoughts I began to realize the why. I feel nothing but joy when I realize God answered a question and led me in the right direction.

It saddens me when I hear someone say they have no purpose or they are not able to see why they exist. I know everyone has a purpose here because God said so. “Every plant and every animal was planned by God, and every person was designed with a purpose in mind.” Once you get out of your own way so many wonderful things will be revealed. The path is not always positive. You will endure some negative things but once you journey through it is the most joyous feeling in the end.

Those that continue to struggle with accepting or identifying your purpose, I suggest you make God the reference point of your life. I was aware of my purpose a while ago, but reconfirmation of it is just like the initial revealed. I thank God daily.

Verse to Remember: "I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born." Isaiah 44:2 (CEV)
