You Have the Victory
Why does one find it hard to defeat temptation?
First: he or she does not want to, he or she finds that temptation is sweet.
Second: temptation feels good, your mind tells you it’s okay and your body goes along with it.
Third: it looks good. If I could just have that and getting it by any means necessary.
Temptation is a feeling that causes a negative action, that when dwelled on can become a recipe for disaster. Temptation can ruin your life. Some of lives most common temptations are:
Stealing – thou shalt not steal Exo 20:15
Lying – thou shalt not bear false witness Exo. 20:16
Cheating – thou shalt not commit adultery Exo. 20:14
It may not seem easy to defeat, but when you think on the goodness of God, and his Son Jesus who never sinned you can have faith that His Word will save you from making the wrong decision by teaching you through the Word that you can and will defeat temptation.
Read God’s Word – Rev. 1:3
Trust God’s Word – Prov. 3:5-6
Believe God’s Word – John 6:9, 69
When temptation is more than you feel you can handle, remember what Jesus told Satan to do, [Matthew 4:10]and you tell that temptation to get away from you; then thank God for His immediate help from the tempting thoughts that He just delivered you from.
Keep praying, He will take care of you.
Put temptation out of your mind and think on good things, think of God’s goodness and mercy and how He has taken care of you.
Verse to Remember: "God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it."
