Day 29 Accepting Your Assignment

Mona Williams
 A Call to Serve

Our assignment God has for us is so much bigger than us!

God wants to make a mark in the earth through us by way of our contribution in making a difference.

In this day Pastor Rick Warren gives four main points regarding our assignment. Our assignment is our ministry, which is our service to others.

1.   You were created to serve God. We were made to be of good works. In serving others we serve God and in serving purpose is being fulfilled. We all have a special task that God has for us to do.
2.      You were saved to serve God. There’s more to our salvation than going to glory. We are saved to do the work of the ministry. Not only work of the ministry but in every station in life (via work, school, etc.)
3.      You are called to serve God. All are called to assist God by fulfilling our earthly mission. Part of that mission is Evangelism, assisting the needy, taking care of the orphans, visiting the sick, visiting the incarcerated, and helping the widows. There are so many areas where service is needed where we can assist.
4.      You are commanded to serve God. Serving should be a Christian’s top priority! This is our life: a life of service. Mother Teresa once said, “Holy living consists in doing God’s work with a smile.” As we grow in our walk, we also grow in our giving.

As we prepare for eternity, let us strive to fulfill our assignment which involves being a service to God by assisting others along this journey. Know that service is a vital part of who we are as believers. Let’s connect in tangible ways to do what we were created to do- SERVE.

Verse to Remember: For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
