It is imperative that our minds be renewed through scripture, this is a great way to receive a greater understanding of God's perspective in regards to our weakness.
Admitting our weakness, is acknowledging and identifying your imperfections. We can have weaknesses of all types; physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual. Sometimes it is hard admitting your flaws. Because we do not want to be seen as weak! But on the other hand, some of us simply do not recognize our flaws. The word "Weak" has such a negative connotation in our eyes, so much so that we do not want to be associated with it. Our Weaknesses derives from either our internal qualities or our external circumstances. Admitting and hearing ourselves acknowledge that we are weak is humbling and this is when God goes to work! God uses our weaknesses to draw us closer to him, He does this, I believe to get the maximum effectiveness. If everyone was a perfect being, who would God be here for? Would you go to the doctor if you were well?
Being able to be content through your weakness is accepting and connecting to your weaknesses. For those that are discontent, or wish you were not the way you are, can easily become ensnared! You cannot allow earthly people or things, to redesign what God has already designed for you. In 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 when Paul had been given a "thorn in the flesh" three times Paul pleaded with the Lord, that it should leave me, but He said to me "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness". Realizing that we are inadequate within our own strength and knowing that God made us perfect in His eyes and His surpassing power we allow him to work in and through us. That feeling in itself makes me praise Him!
Honestly sharing our weakness is exposing our vulnerability. Most people in a sense think they are alone in a particular situation or circumstance. But once one removes the barrier of trying to be picture perfect and stop leaning on their own strengths can finally realize that everyone has a weakness and you are not exempt! You can drop the facade and reveal the "real" you! Do not only allow God to use you to help other's, but be honest with yourself so you can also be a self help tool and become a better you. God has a way of turning our biggest strengths, into our biggest weaknesses! Do you ever notice at times when you minister to others, you get a "A HA" moment, because you realized that you just ministered to yourself.
Having Glory in your weakness is shedding light on the fact that you do not have to pretend to be someone you are not! I can say "yes" I have weaknesses, but do you know who my Father is?! He is the one that can do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us...Even through this weak vessel!
Verse to Remember: "My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9a (NIV)
